Pulling a Hamilton Oak Ridge Boys Style

When I was young, probably five or six, I had a recurring dream. I won an award in some kind of competition. My mom took me to my Aunt Gladys' house in Pratt, KS. It was a cute little house with gray siding and a garden that always smelled of tomatoes and irises.

Anyway, the prize for winning the competition was a tour of the Vampire Hall of Fame which, in my dream, was housed in Aunt Gladys' house. We walked in and our tour guides, the Oak Ridge Boys, greeted us. For those of you not familiar with the Oak Ridge Boys, they are a band who sings country and gospel music. There is a really deep voiced guy who sings "Bo Bo Bo, Bobby Sue", two guys who harmonize, and a guy with a really high voice who sings most of their songs. He had long black/gray hair and a killer mustache. On this link he is the guy with the gray hair and gray mustache http://www.oakridgeboys.com/home/. He was the lead tour guide.

He led us through a large room with about 30 glass coffins each holding a vampire. The vampires were in their coffins with their fangs out and the stereotypical arms folded across their chests. My mom went with me on the tour and was just ecstatic that she got to meet the Oak Ridge Boys. I was pretty stoked too until we past the first vampire. He sat up in his glass coffin, turned his head at me, and hissed. I screamed! The Oak Ridge Boys looked at me as did mom. I told them what happened and they all had a good chuckle. "Oh, that wacky Aaron. The vampires are all dead." All of the vampires in the whole place did this as I walked by.

Eventually, I got scared and ran out the back door. When I did, I was in Aunt Gladys' back yard. Coming at me from the alley were two, short werewolves dressed in Wichita Northwest High School letter jackets. This is interesting because, at the time, I didn't know what a high school was nor did I know, consciously, that Wichita Northwest had just opened that year or the year before (in real life it was a new high school).

After that I got scared and woke up. Thus ended the "Vampire Hall of Fame tour led by the Oak Ridge Boys only to be chased by Werewolves" dream.

  1. Dude, what were you doing knowing about vampires and werewolves when you were five or six? You must have been watching some pretty crazy shit while I was stuck watching Electric Company.
